Love reading your comments. Saw a reference to your blog on Mary’s FB. Scott and Mary are good friends (we lived 2 doors down on Takapuna Beach and now live in Pdx–I tell Mary I am reverse stalking her…!). Our family is heading down to NZ in March (3 kids 14, 12 and 9) and would love to grab a quick coffee with you on your return and hear a couple quick tips on best of the best and what would work for kids our kids’ ages. Routeburn is on our itinerary right now and I want to go to that Abel Tasman lodge too. We’ll be there for 3 weeks. Love the carry on luggage idea (we did that this past summer on another trip and it was awesome) and love those Tim Tams! Best regards and enjoy the rest of your trip! Chrys, I’ll send you an email when we are back in the states and it would be great for either my wife or I to meet with you and share what we’ve learned, but since you used to live in NZ, I’m sure you know at least 90% of what we’ve learned. We’ve been having a great time! And it was a kick spending more time with Mary.
